Mr. Kistner manages Bessemer’s Boston office as Senior Resident Officer and Managing Director. Mr. Kistner joined Bessemer after 24 years with U.S. Trust (and its predecessors in Boston, State Street Bank and State Street Global Advisors). At these organizations, Mr. Kistner was a Managing Director and Investment Manager working with families, individuals and foundations. He was responsible for asset allocation, equity selection, diversification, financial planning, and gifting strategies. Previously, he was Chairman of the Investment Strategy Committee for the Trust and Investment area of State Street Bank and Trust Company.

Prior to this, Mr. Kistner was with the Boston Company where he held various positions, including Portfolio Manager and Head of the Alternative Investments and Closely Held Business Units. Prior to this, he was with Shawmut Bank of Boston as a credit analyst.

Mr. Kistner received his B.A. from Harvard College and his M.B.A. from Boston University. He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Tenacre Country Day School, The Paul Revere House and the Masonic Education and Charity Trust. Previously, he served on the Board of Trustees of Noble & Greenough School, Roger Williams University, The Boys and Girls Camps, and as a member of the MBTA Advisory Board. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst, a member of the Boston Security Analyst’s Society and the Boston Estate Planning Council.
