Mr. Lipson is Managing Director and Senior Resident Officer in our Los Angeles office, overseeing the firm's client relationships in Southern California, Arizona, Nevada and Colorado. He has over 25 years of experience in the wealth management industry.

Prior to joining Bessemer in 2007, Mr. Lipson was Regional Chief Executive Officer for US Trust, a subsidiary of the Charles Schwab Corporation, responsible for their wealth management practice in California. From 1993 to 2000, he was chairman and chief executive officer of Northstar Investment Management, an investment advisory firm he founded in Greenwich, Connecticut.

From 1988 to 1993, Mr. Lipson was president and chief executive officer of National Securities & Research Corporation, an investment advisory firm based in New York City. From 1983 to 1988, he was executive vice president and head of retail banking at Great Western Bank and Chairman of Great Financial Securities Corporation, both headquartered in Beverly Hills, California. Mr. Lipson began his banking career at Citibank in 1980 in New York.

Mr. Lipson received a B.S. in statistics and computer science and an M.S. in statistics from the University of Delaware. He is actively involved in a variety of civic and charitable organizations as a member of the Board of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Sports Council, the Southern California Committee for the Olympic Games, LA's BEST after school programs, a past Mentor of the Fulfillment Fund, and a member of the Los Angeles Chapter of WPO.
