Mr. Allen is a Business Development Officer based in Bessemer's Atlanta office. Prior to joining Bessemer in 2006, he provided investment consulting and transaction management through Capital Growth Services, LLC which he founded in 2001. Previously he was Managing Director of Great American Ventures, LLC, a newly formed single family office. His responsibilities included investment strategy, asset allocation, private equity operations, and office administration. Before that Mr. Allen was the investment manager for LOR, Inc. one of the largest family offices in the Southeast from 1989 to 1999.

Mr. Allen earned a B.A. in Business Administration and English Literature from Covenant College, Lookout Mountain, Georgia, and an M.B.A. in finance with a concentration in strategic planning from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He has served on the advisory boards of the CDC Foundation, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, as well as the faculty of the Institute for Private Investors. He is also chairman of the board of Covenant Community, a residential addiction recovery program for men.
