Thaddeus R. Shelly, III

Senior Managing Director, Mid-Atlantic, South and Southeast Region Head

 

Mr. Shelly oversees client acquisition and account management for Bessemer's Mid-Atlantic, South and Southeast regions. Before assuming his regional management responsibilities, Mr. Shelly successfully managed Bessemer's Washington, D.C. office while overseeing the firm's Equity Risk Management advisory services.

Prior to joining Bessemer Trust in 1998, Mr. Shelly was the Director of Private Client Services at Legg Mason, Co. in Baltimore. From 1984 to 1992, he was a Vice President at Goldman, Sachs & Co. where he provided investment advisory and brokerage services to institutional and wealthy individual clients.

Mr. Shelly received a B.A. in Economics from Hampden-Sydney College, where he was a scholarship athlete in football and baseball, and earned an M.B.A with honors from the College of William and Mary. Mr. Shelly serves on the Board of Sponsors of the Business School of the College of William and Mary and on the Advisory Council of Woodberry Forest School. He is also a member of The Florida Council of 100, a business leadership organization of CEOs, and former Vice-Chairman of the Maryland Chapter of the United States Olympic Committee.
